Ethan Stood in front of one of the bookshelves, thumbing through the labels for the book he desired. So far, he hadn't found it.. He was in the section with the dictionaries and encyclopedias, as the librarian had told him it would be here..
Aha! He thought happily as he pulled off the newest book on Psychology. The study of the mind had always fascinated him, for reasons beyond his comprehension. He had a perfect 100 in his AP Psychology class, and he even read through the book they used already, despite the year just starting.
He sat down at a four seater table off to the side besode a chess board, and opened the book to he first page as he slouched down and propped his feet up on the seat across from him under the table. He threw his bookbag over the table and landed loudly in the other sat across from him, leaving the only free seat the one beside him.
He cringed as the heavy mesh bookbag landed, but nobody noticed. It was his free period, and he mostly spent it in the library. He was usually very social, but he liked his reading time. Though he wouldn't deny anybody sitting next to him. He enjoyed company.
With one last look at the library door, he turned to his book and began reading the long, complicated, delightful sentences that held he secrets of the mind, to waste away the free period in luxury.

Lacey wandered down the hall, head down. She had detention. She was going to spend it in the library. Why? Because the environment was going to force her to be quiet. Those were her teachers words, not her's. Lace didn't want to go to the library. She didn't want to be in detention. She didn't want to be quiet. Lacey had just gotten the latest Elle magazine, and she wsa going to read it whether the librarian was going to let her or not. With her was her heavy bag carrying her laptop, which she brought everywhere with her in case she didn't or couldn't get the next version of the magazine she needed.
When she got in, she saw a lot of people sitting at tables mainly by themselves. Already feeling awkward, she headed for a table with a guy sitting beside a chess board. Alright, whatever. He had a big book, one that Lacey wouldn't even look at on a normal day. She stood awkwardly beside him, biting the corner of her lip as she looked down at Ethan. "Hi. Uhm. Is anyone else sitting here? Cause... I need a place to sit. I promise I won't talk much!" Lacey asked, hopefully.

Ethan looked up from his reading to the new arrival and raised his eybrows. She certainly was cute! He thought. Definitely lower class, but still. But even if she had been some random dude, he would have said yes. As stated before, he enjoyed company.
"Umm.. Yeah?" he responded, closing his book but keeping his right index finger in to hold it in place. "But not talking isn't fun, now is it?" he asked, smiling warmly."You didn't disturb me or anything."
He patted the seat for her to sit down, and opened his psychology book again and began to read again, but as into it as he was. If she did not initiate any further convesation he would. Her fiery red hair and perkiness sparked a curiosity in him.

"Umm.. Yeah?" "Great!" Lacey explained, sitting in the other chair. She bent down to get her books out; if she wasn't going to talk than she was going to read her magazines and write her essay due in a week. She lifted her head at his words, smiling kindly at him. "I was told to come here to serve my detention; I talk too much in class apparently. But math is just so boring! I can't help it, I have to create my own entertainment since math can't do it for me!" The librarian shushed Lacey from across the room. Lacey ducked her head, her cheeks going pink.
Then she looked back at Ethan, and tilted her head slightly. "Why are you here? This place is usually deserted." Lacey whispered, loud enough for Ethan to hear her but not loud enough for the evil mean librarian to shush her again. As she waited for his answer she pulled two thick fashion magazines out and flipped one open, beginning to track this season's fashions do's and don'ts. Fashion was Lacey's weakness; she couldn't help it. It was bred into her blood thanks to being from the fashion District of New York.

Ethan raised his eyebrows as she spoke to him. Well, she was a talker, that much was obvious. Amd her teacher obviously agrees. But that was perfectly fine. He did get lonely occasionally here.. Which was extremely odd for him, since he usually had friends everywhere he went.
He looked at the librarian as she shushed the poor girl and smiled. He bookmarked his book and set it aside, Looking at the interesting lower classman, or should he say classwoman, before him. "I agree completely," he said, empathizing. "But instead of talking, i tend to text discreetly or read, which still makes the teacher mad bit nothing detention-worthy." he said, grinning. Her pink blush was cute.
Her next question was one he saw coming. Why would a guy who normally lived in a mechanics shop be in the library reading? "I enjoy reading," he said simply, shrugging and motioning to the huge book he had just started reading most kids couldn't be paid to read.
"My name is Ethan Naro, by the way," he added, as she pulled out a fashion magazine. This struck him even more interesting, though quite a few girls were into the fashion stuff. He took a wild stab in the dark. "You going into modeling?" he asked curiously.
